One of my favorite countries in the world by far is the Philippines! This country will never fail to amaze you. It has the most friendly people in the world, breathtaking landscapes, beautiful waterfalls, lovely beaches, and many fun activities to try.
Although you can visit the cities and enjoy the experience, the best part of the country is its nature outside the cities. You can choose from over 7,000 islands to see and to enjoy the beaches. The country is also one of the most welcoming, where you feel at home because of the locals.
I love everything about this country. Here are some reasons to visit the Philippines:

1. Friendly Locals
Let’s start with my favorite one, Filipinos are incredibly hospitable and friendly people. No matter where are you are, you will be greeted with a kind smile, and many of them will strike up a conversation. If you need help, they will immediately come to assist you. Of all the countries I’ve been to, the Philippines tops my list for the friendliest people in the world.
The kids and adults alike will wave and smile. They will even invite you into their homes and share their food with you. Plus, communicating is easy because English is the official language of the country.
2. Lovely Islands
The Philippines is an archipelago that boasts over 7,000 islands. You have many to choose from! Depending on which one you decide to visit, you will arrive by plane or boat. One island I love is the party island, Boracay. Its pristine crystal clear beaches are what stole my heart. Other famous islands are Palawan and Siargao. In Palawan, two towns to visit are Coron and El Nido.
3. Beautiful Beaches
The beaches in the Philippines are incredible. In some places, the sea is turquoise blue and crystal clear. You will find white, soft, powdery sand. Plus, many of them are surrounded by beautiful scenery such as mountains and jungles.
4. Breathtaking Landscapes
Not only are the beaches beautiful in the Philippines, but it also has breathtaking landscapes. Two popular spots are the Chocolate Hills in Bohol and the Subterranean River National Park. There are also rice fields, jungles, beautiful waterfalls, volcanoes, and massive rock formations.
5. Whale Sharks
One of the places in the world where you can see whale sharks is in the Philippines. You can jump into the water and dive with them. Just make sure to respect these gentle animals and do not touch them. This is one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had. The whale sharks are enormous, and to see them underwater is incredible.
6. Great Weather
Because the Philippines is a tropical country, it’s warm year-round. However, it does have a rainy season from June to October, but it’s still warm and sunny. Tours only get canceled if there is a typhoon. The warmest time to visit is from March to May.
7. Budget-Friendly
Like the majority of Southeast Asia, the Philippines is a budget-friendly country. You can find hotels at great prices, local food will cost about $3, and tours will rarely be over $20. I believe the Philippines is a perfect honeymoon destination for those who want to splurge at a lower price. Of course, I’m thinking overwater bungalows in the Philippines rather than in the Bahamas or the Maldives.
8. Diving and Snorkeling
The Philippines has been declared the center of marine biodiversity in the world. Therefore, you will have a unique underwater experience in this country. There are beautiful corals, and you can swim with whale sharks, white-tip reef sharks, and turtles.
In Palawan, Tubbataha Reef has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, in Cebu, you can have the best diving experiences and swim with a school of fish, specifically sardines. Lastly, in Malapascua, there are thresher sharks. So there are lots of underwater adventures you can have in the Philippines.
