Zuzuni Boutique Hotel: Boracay Beachfront Stay

Zuzuni Boutique Hotel: Boracay Beachfront Stay

We recently had the opportunity to stay at  Zuzuni Boutique Hotel during our visit to Boracay and we didn’t want to leave!

The beaches in Boracay are stunning, and what better way to experience this island than to stay at one of those beautiful beaches?  Zuzuni Boutique Hotel is conveniently located between Station 1 and 2 on White Beach, which attracts visitors.

We enjoyed our stay mainly because of its location on the beach, but also because of the awesome view, the friendly staff, the comfortable bed, and the delicious restaurant food.

Upon Arrival

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly staff.  With smiles on their face, they helped check us in and welcomed us with a drink.  It was a quick and easy process, and within minutes, we were guided to our room by a helpful staff member who carried our heavy backpacks.

The Rooms at Zuzuni Boutique Hotel

Zuzuni is a small boutique hotel with only 14 guest rooms, so your experience will feel more personal than larger hotels. However, since it only has a few rooms, it’s important to reserve early if you choose to stay here.  The style is very modern and contemporary and has an eco-friendly look, using light-colored wood in the rooms and grey accents.

One thing we appreciate about hotels is cleanliness, and this is what we found at Zuzuni.  It was spotless and very well cared for.

We had the pleasure of staying in a Beachfront Room with a balcony.  The balcony was our favorite part of our stay! From above, we had a beautiful view of the crystal clear beach and lovely palm trees. We also had the ‘beach walk’ area below, where all the fun takes place in Boracay.

Aside from a great view and a nice-looking room, our accommodation came with the amenities we needed.  The room features a comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning, bath items, and free Wi-Fi.  The Wi-Fi worked the best downstairs compared to our room, but it worked well enough to get us by for the bit of time we were in the room.  We also had a safe restaurant menu, mini-fridge, t.v., and balcony seating.

Although the room is small, we didn’t find this a problem because it felt cozy.  Plus, the room had everything well situated within a small space.  Besides, we preferred to spend our time lounging on the chairs from our balcony, enjoying the sight of the blue ocean hues, and walking by the beach.  Boracay will keep you busy with activities too.

The Perfect Location

As mentioned above, Zuzuni Boutique Hotel is conveniently located on the popular White Beach. Therefore, you simply walk out of the hotel to find yourself on the warm white sand and about a minute from dipping on the beach.

Within the area, you have D Mall where you can go shopping.  And within footsteps, you have many convenience shops, restaurants along the beach, and popular nightclubs and bars minutes away. You’ll also have many fruit shake stands, local coffee shops (including Starbucks), and sports activities.

Despite being in the center of it all, there is minimal noise inside the room when your door is closed.  So, no need to worry about sleeping well.  We didn’t really hear noise from inside the hotel either.

The restaurant: La Cozina

The hotel’s restaurant is called Cozina. It’s Latin influenced and being of Latino descent ourselves, you can imagine how happy the tacos made us!  Especially after weeks of backpacking and no Mexican food.  The restaurant itself is small but with a friendly vibe inside with great decor.

There is an option to eat by the beach where t tables are set up and fairy lights add to a romantic vibe. The service is terrific too.  Just by the restaurant, there is also a Churro stand!

Things to do Nearby

The best thing to do while staying at Zuzuni is to enjoy the beach in front of the hotel.  If you take a 5-minute walk north on the beach, you’ll find it to be less crowded.

Also during the evening, you can enjoy happy hour at one of the many restaurants nearby, or you can go party at one of the clubs late at night.  Most of these are south of the hotel.

You will also find many places to buy tasty fruit shakes, coffee shops, delicious restaurants, and lots of shopping stores.

Feel like going Island hopping?  There are many people offering tours along the beach.  Feel like getting a massage?  No problem!  You can also get them anywhere along the coast.  Want to try to stand up paddleboarding?  Snorkeling? Kayaking? Parasailing? You can do these and many more activities at your fingertips by simply stepping outside the hotel.  But you can also ask the staff for help. There are endless amounts of water activities to do nearby that you can try!

How to Get There

Our plane landed in Kalibo instead of Caticlan, so we had to take an hour-ride shuttle to Caticlan Port first.  To get to Boracay, from Caticlan Port in Malay, you take a short ferry ride. It will be about 8-10 minutes.

Once at the arrival port, getting to the hotel is best done by asking a tricycle driver to drop you off on the main road near station one or in-between stations 1 and 2, leading to the beaches.  It should take about 15 minutes from the port to the area.

The road is a busy one, but thankfully the hotel isn’t located on the main road.  You’ll have to walk a couple of minutes through the shops until you reach the beach.  From the beach, you can look for the hotel.

If you have GPS on your phone, you’ll find it more easily. If you don’t, can ask for directions to Starbucks.  The hotel is only a few steps north of it.  You should see the hotel sign or the sign of the restaurant called Cozina.

To Conclude

Zuzuni Boutique Hotel was a fantastic stay for us.  We loved the location because it was conveniently located, the restaurant was delicious, and the rooms were comfortable and cozy.  It is the perfect accommodation for those who seek affordable luxury and a place where budget travelers can splurge a bit.  We found it ideal for couples. Whenever we find ourselves back in Boracay, this is a place we’d love to stay at again!

Wow, that’s definitely a million dollar view – it looks that you can practically touch the beach! 14 rooms is a great size for a guest house to get a individual service. The furnishing looks very sleek, and I particularly like the setting of the restaurant. Obviously a very nice place – but like I said: it’s mainly the view and closeness to the beach and ocean that would bring me here.

It was definitely a nice stay. If you find yourself in Boracay, do stay here. Worth the view and location!

This place sounds perfect! I alway prefer a smaller hotel with that personal feel over a big resort. And that water looks absolutely gorgeous!

Me too! Sometimes the smaller hotels feel more like home.

With views like that, it doesn’t matter if the room is a bit small. We never spend much time in our room anyway:) I love that you can get your meal on the beach!

Very true! What’s great was the view and location to the beach!

You can’t beat being on the footsteps of the beach, the view looks incredible 😀 – Boracay is still on my list, although I’m on more the tight budget side of traveling I might have to splurge out a little to stay here:D Sometimes unless it’s a resort especially in SE Asia you don’t really expect hotels to be so clean and love how the staff are so friendly too.

Very true! This one was very clean so it was nice. It’s nice to splurge occasionally! Hope you make it to Boracay soon. We loved it so much!

Boutique accommodations are my favorite and from your description I know I would love this hotel. When you are somewhere scenic balconies are such a great amenity, and it is so relaxing to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view and people watch. Thanks for including tips on how to get there, always helpful. Saving this for when I make it to the Philippines.

Definitely! We enjoy boutique hotels a lot. This one was especially nice because of the balcony and sea view. Hope you make it out to Boracay. This hotel would be a great stay for you!

It’s a beautiful hotel. I love how close your room was to the beach especially with the views from that balcony!

It was quite nice! Probably the best thing about it, although we loved it all.

What a beautiful beachfront you got to stay on. I haven’t visited this part of the Philippines yet, but what a charming hotel.

Hope you make it there soon! Boracay is stunning!

I’m lusting over that incredible ocean view from your room! And those tacos from La Cozina. Yum! I’ve never stayed at a boutique hotel before, but after reading this post I’m intrigued by the intimate size and attentiveness of the staff. It looks like a very beautiful place to stay!

I’ve only stayed at 3 boutique hotels and I’ve only had great experiences. Haha, yes, the tacos were a highlight for us!

Location, location is what I always say and it sounds like this hotel is in the PERFECT spot. Yes, why not stay at one of the gorgeous beaches! Clean room, great view and good service – what more could you ask for?

Definitely location! It was perfect and the view was amazing!

Looks like the perfect location indeed! Can’t beat being right off the beach. We may be going to Boracay next year

Nice! You’ll really enjoy Boracay! The location was definitely perfect and it was the best part for us.
